Over the course of 20 years I have rescued many identified photographs with the intention of researching them back to their current day families. I am currently in the process of doing just that and as I research them, I will be adding those photographs to this website and notifying some of the genealogy boards and possibly even trying to contact some researchers directly.

If there is someone you know researching these families, I would appreciate it if you would pass along the information to them.

I have listed each identified photograph by REGION & then by STATE. I hope that this is helpful and that it will make it easier to look for family photos.

All of the identified photographs will remain on this website until claimed. However, I am working on being able to supply digital copies of the photos I have sold so that many family members are able to experience the joy of owning the antique photo.

This, like the rest of the site, is an on going project. If by some chance you missed purchasing the original photo of your relative, please inquire about the digital image.

I have spent many hours researching each and every identified photograph that I have listed on this website but I could not in good conscience say that all of the information that I've provided is 100% accurate, however, I can say that I would not list the photograph with genealogy information attached if I didn't truly believe that I had identified the photograph correctly. This information is not based on guesses, I use census records and other means to try and figure out the family connections. I may be off with some minor details but I'm fairly confident, when I post a photo that the identification is accurate. If you do see a photo that you think is related to you, I urge you to take a moment to be sure. If you need a day to double check your records, I would be happy to accomodate you and put the item on hold for 24 hours.

Please keep in mind that the information I supply with the photograph is based on names, dates, locations (found on the photos) and some good old fashion detective work.

I started collecting old identified family photographs about 20 years ago. I became interested in these old photographs because I had just started researching my Pennsylvania/New Jersey ancestors and I became quite facinated that there were so many old identified photographs floating around and that they were being bought and sold over and over again to people who were not even related to them. As I watched this happen, I realized that I probably could figure out who they really belonged to by doing a little bit of research on them. I'm the kind of person that you would get an e-mail from telling you that there was an item on ebay that you may be related to. Sometimes because of the price, I can't afford to rescue something on ebay so the next best thing to me is to figure out who it may belong to and send them e-mails. I have done that more times than I can count, sometimes they are closely related and are thrilled and other times they are distant relatives and aren't really interested. Either way, it makes me feel good to make the effort and this is what the entire website is about "making the effort".

Like I said previously, I've been researching my family for about 20 years and most of them were from the Pennsylvania area, we didn't move to Camden County, NJ. until about 1870's. Some of the Surnames that I am researching are: HESS, GARIS/GERES/GEHRES/, LACKMAN, WEYGANDT, EICHMAN, CLEWELL, MOLLOY, to name a few. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who thinks they may have a connection to me. I have a database of about 40,000 names so if anyone has a question regarding the above names, please contact me. I would be more than happy to check and see if any of your relatives are in my database.

I'm always looking for more cousins!
