You are looking at an identified photograph of ALICE MARIE PRATT, born 1863, Ashland, MASS.

This photograph measures about 2x4 and is in very nice condition with minimal corner wear, dirty spots and fading.

The photograph is identified on the back as such: "ALICE PRATT, mothers friend, married WARREN WALES, RUTLAND".

I have done some research on this photo and this is what I've come up with:

ALICE MARIE PRATT was born Decmeber 16, 1863, ASHLAND, MASS. to ALBERT BALLORD PRATT, who was born March 23, 1831, FARMINGTON, ME. and FRANCES A. WILLIAMSON who was born 1839, MA.

Parents of ALBERT B. PRATT were CALVIN & BETSEY PRATT. Parents of FRANCES A. WILLIAMSON were JAMES & MARY WILLIAMSON.

ALICE M. PRATT married WARREN GODDARD WALES on April 19, 1887, ESSEX CO., MA.

WARREN GODDARD WALES was born MAY 7, 1863, RUTLAND, WORCESTER CO., MA. to IVORY WALES AND REBECCA B. SARGENT WALES.

ALICE MARIE PRATT WALES died May 29, 1946, RUTLAND, MASS., her husband WARREN GODDARD WALES died November 5, 1946, WORCESTER, MA.

ALICE & WARREN WALES had at least one child by the name of ALBERT FRANCIS WALES, born September 30 1889, RUTLAND, MA.

It is presumed that WARREN & ALICE adopted WARREN'S sisters son WARREN IVORY TEMPLE because he is living with them in the 1900 census records under the name TEMPLE and listed as a nephew but in the 1910 census records he is WARREN I. WALES and listed as son. I did some looking around and found that WARREN'S sister MARY LOUISA GODDARD WALES was married to CHARLES LEVI TEMPLE and WARREN IVORY TEMPLE was their son, however, MARY LOUISA died 2/28/1887, at the age of 35 and her husband CHARLES died 12/21/1888, at the age of 41. There were 5 other children in the family, the oldest at the time of the fathers death was CHARLES, age 16 and the youngest was Warren, age 3.

I also found indication that they may have had a foster son by the name of ERIC H. BRANDT who was born abt. 1899 and living with WARREN & ALICE WALES according to the 1900 census, however, I could not find him in 1910.

NOTE: In 1900 WARREN was a farmer & in 1910 he was listed as a KEEPER for a PRIVATE SANATORIUM.

More about their son ALBERT F. WALES:

ALBERT married BELLA AUGUSTA FAY on Sept. 19, 1912, WORCESTER, MA.

BELLA AUGUSTA FAY was born April 1, 1892, RUTLAND, MA. and she died February 12, 1936, RUTLAND, MA., her parents were GEORGE FAY & SARAH DEMOND.

ALBERT died DEC. 28, 1955, RUTLAND, MA. & is buried in Rural Cemetery, Rutland, Ma.

ALBERT WALES & BELLA FAY hand the following children:

FRANCES WALES, born Jan. 16, 1914, married LYDIA SMITH
HELEN LOUISE WALES, born Aug. 31, 1921
BARBARA MARY WALES, born Sept. 1924, married LLOYD B. VINER
GRETA EVELYN WALES, born Jan. 7, 1928
ALBERT F. WALES, born June 24, 1929.

When I supply the genealogy with these photos, it is only my intention to try and help a family researcher figure out if indeed this is one of their family members. Although I strive to get the information as accurate as possible, I am sure that there are some details that are not exactly correct but I'm confident that I do have the family connections correct or I would not list them.
