You are looking at an identified post card that was sent to MRS. HORACE WOLFE (AMANDA T. WEAVER) of PEN ARGYL, PA.

The post card is in very nice shape with the normal wear and tear, it is postally used and was sent from Brooklyn, NY. in 1911.

The back of the postcard has the following note:

"Have been thinking of you-today-hope you are feeling better. Don't work to hard-I thank yourself and your dear old "Hubby" and your mother. Will be home in a few days then we will take a good long walk making xmas calls-how about it-am feeling fine-getting fat-fatty-fatter. Ha! Ha! Lovingly (can't quite make out name but it looks like it could be) LORA, LORI (I lean towards LORA)"

Postcard is dated Dec. 12, 1911 and mailed from BROOKLYN, NY.

I checked the 1910 census records for PEN ARGYL, NORTHAMPTON CO., PA. and HORACE, wife AMANDA & AMANDA'S mother MATILDA WEAVER were all living together so part of the postcard makes sense. I tried to see if there was a family living next door or near them in 1910 census that had a family member with any of those names but was not successful matching that up.

I have done some research on this post card and this is what I could find:

MRS. HORACE WOLFE was actually AMANDA T. WEAVER, born April 1870, Pa. JOHN WEAVER & MATILDA MILLER.

AMANDA'S father probably died rather young because in 1880 Pen Argyle, Northampton Co., Pa., MATILDA WEAVER was widowed and running a boarding house in the Village of Pen Argyle.

AMANDA'S mother MATILDA says that she gave birth to 6 children but only 2 were still alive in 1910.

I believe those 2 children were EMMA & AMANDA.

EMMA born 1862, Pa.

AMANDA T. WEAVER married HORACE C. WOLFE in 1899, PA. and I do not believe that they had any children.

In 1900, Horace's mother lived with them and in 1910, Amanda's mother lived with them, they were both widows.

In 1920, Horace & Amanda "Mandy" are still living in Pen Argyl, Pa.

In 1930, HORACE & AMANDA are still living in Pen Argyl, Pa.

MISSCELANEOUS NOTES:

I believe that HORACE'S parents were JOHN & MATILDA BACH WOLFE, and he had the following siblings:

LILLIE, CYRUS, OSCAR, NEWTON, EDWARD & HATTIE

(I found the above information in a family tree so not positive it's 100% correct).

I just want to mention that their is another WOLF photograph listed, this one is of CARRIE VON NIEDA WOLF. I'm not even sure if they are connected to this WOLF family but possibly a WOLF researcher would recognize her or the names.

No additional information is know ab out these families.
