You are looking at an identified postcard dated August 30, 1911 addressed to Mr. SAMMIE E. SMITH in MUNSONVILLE, NH. from his wife ALICE DORA BRIDGE SMITH.

The postcard is in nice shape with little damage, just some dirty spots (SEE SCANS).

The postcard was given to her husband on his 27th birthday, August 30, 1911.

The postcard is id'd as such "With all the love and best wishes from your wife Alice D. (but it looks like a B.) Smith" to "Mr. Sammie E. Smith, Munsonville, N.H." and the date August 30, 1911

I have done some research on this couple and this is what I've come up with.

SAMUEL DARIUS ELIAS SMITH was born AUGUST 30, 1884 to ELIAS BEMIS SMITH born Oct. 16, 1836 (NY) and ELLEN ELIZABETH GREEN born Aug. 15, 1855, (MA). ELIAS died March 11, 1914 (NH) and ELLEN died March 17, 1916 (NH), both are buried in MUNSONVILLE CEMETERY, MUNSONVILLE, NH.

SAMUEL D.E. SMITH died April 12, 1946, Munsonville, NH. and buried in same cemetery as parents.

SAMUEL had the following siblings:

ROSABELL born May 7, 1873 NH.
JAMES MONROE born July 1875 NH.
NELLIE OLIVE born March 1877, NH
ANNIE LAURIE born May 1879, NH.
ELLA JOSEPHINE born Aug. 1881, NH.
ELIZABETH MAY born June 1886, NH.
CORA ELLEN born July 1888, NH.
GEORGE EDWIN born May 1892, NH.

NOTE: SAMUEL'S sister FLORENCE V. married ARTHUR HILL and they had sons LESTER A. (1912), ROGER C (1913), CHARLES E. (1915) & HERMAN S. (1917).

SAMUEL and his wife ALICE did not have children of their own but they did take in CHARLES E. and ROGER C. HILL (Samuel's nephews).

According to WWII Interred Overseas Veterans Records, ROGER C. HILL (Samuel's nephew) was killed in combat, buried and received the PURPLE HEART (see below)
