You are looking at an original IDENTIFIED photograph of KATHERINE "KATIE" WITT MCDOWELL. The location is not listed on the photo but I would guess that it was taken in FORT SCOTT, BOURBON CO., KANSAS. There is a pencil marking of "1917" so I'm guessing that was the year it was taken.
The photograph is in very nice shape, there is a little bit of corner wear and there is a moisture stain on the back of the frame but it does not show up in the front. This photo measures about 10.5x5.5 (measurement includes folder frame).
I have done some research on this photo and this is what I've come up with: KATHERINE "KATIE" WITT was the daughter of ELMER EUGENE WITT (b:April 1862 KS.) and NANCY BARNHART WITT (b:1866 OH.) of FORT SCOTT, BOURBON CO., KANSAS (see separate photo of family). KATIE had a brother by the name of ARTHUR IVAN WITT (see separate photos). KATIE WITT was born JULY 1890 KANSAS, her brother ARTHUR IVAN was born MARCH 1888, KANSAS, he married NANCY MAUDE BARNETT (see separate photo of what may be their wedding photo).
I know that KATHERINES married name was McDOWELL, because it's marked on the back of ther photo. She was back living with her parents in the 1920 Ft. Scott, Bourbon Co., OH. census records.
